What’s the difference between wood balusters and spindles?
The terms are often used interchangeably, but “baluster” is typically the broader architectural term for the upright support between the handrail and base rail of a staircase or railing. “Spindle” is more commonly used in residential or informal contexts. At H.A. Stiles, we often use them interchangeably, but manufacture both to the same high-quality standards.
