FAQs

What’s the difference between wood balusters and spindles?

The terms are often used interchangeably, but “baluster” is typically the broader architectural term for the upright support between the handrail and base rail of a staircase or railing. “Spindle” is more commonly used in residential or informal contexts. At H.A. Stiles, we often use them interchangeably, but manufacture both to the same high-quality standards.

Do you offer small-batch custom jobs or just bulk?

Yes, we regularly produce small-batch parts for specialty architectural projects that require unique specifications. We also can provide these items in bulk. Get in touch with your requirements to see if we're a good fit for your needs!
